At Spirit Church, we want you to be a part of something that makes a difference. We want people to commit to building a discipleship with Jesus as well as having the willingness to build up others.

 

Pastor Scott Galbraith leads our church in the heart of downtown Sacramento, California. Our church propels individuals around a "spirit path" so they might be discipled as followers of Jesus Christ. Sharing God's love throughout the communities, changing lives one service at a time.

About Our Pastor

At Spirit Church, we see our role as a nondenominational church as an opportunity. We want to unite Sacramento, California, in one loving church community through kindness and compassion. The shepherd of our church community is our pastor, Scott Galbraith. His background has led him to inspire passion.

 

 

Our Pastor's Family

Scott was born in Sacramento. His father is Albert Galbraith, Jr., bishop of California Northern First Jurisdictions of the Church of God in Christ. His mother is Missionary Carolyn J. Galbraith, co-coordinator of the International COGIC Women's Convention/National Hospitality President, COGIC, Inc.

 

 

Career Background

Scott earned his bachelor's degree in public administration at the University of Southern California and was drafted by the Cleveland Browns. He played nine seasons (with four teams) in the NFL, winning the Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys in 1994. After retiring in 2001, he became the head football coach at Sacramento High School. The school was ranked 16th in the nation by USA Today while he was the coach. In 2003, Scott moved to Detroit, Michigan, and continued his career in education as the Dean of Students/VP at Marvin L. Winans Performing Arts High School (WAPA), the largest performing arts high school in the nation. In 2008, Scott moved back to California and accepted the same position at Langston Hughes Academy Middle School/Aspire Public Schools.

 

 The Call To Something More

Scott was given Pearly Gate COGIC to begin his pastorship in Stockton, California. They came back to California in 2008. Three years later, Bishop Galbraith awarded Scott with a larger ministry in San Francisco. Currently, Scott is pastor of Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in San Francisco, California. Scott is a graduate of Wesleyan Theological Seminary, and he has a master's degree from the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College, in Memphis, Tennessee.

 

Personal Life

While attending an AIM convention, our pastor met his wife, Dr. Carla L. Hunter-Galbraith. Scott and Carla have been married for 13 years. They have daughters, Coi Kings and has been selected by the NFL's Department of Player Personnel to be one of the 20 Transition Coaches to all incoming rookies and retiring veterans players in the NFL.Cymantha "CeCe" Carolyn. A Word for This Generation

Our pastor's educational background, outstanding secular and sacred accomplishments and his pedigree in the church bring him instant credibility to the locker-room, chaplaincy, and the pulpit. He remains in high demand as a speaker, lecturer, and revivalist. His distinctive delivery causes the hearts of men to "chase" after God.
